When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”A submenu is one button in the menu that opens a page of its own. Use it to sort a long menu: one submenu for outfits, one for the face, one for accessories.
- To put all of a component's entries in one submenu, you do not need a submenu entry: set Install as to As submenu under Component settings.
- To build a submenu full of outfits in one step, use + Outfit set. Your first outfit selector shows how.
To add a submenu, press + Submenu in the toolbar.
Filling a submenu
Section titled “Filling a submenu”A new entry lands inside the submenu that is selected in the tree, or in the same submenu as the entry that is selected. To move an entry into a submenu, drag its row in the tree, or right click it and pick Move to and the submenu. Root moves it back to the top of the menu. A submenu holds toggles, radials, presets, grabbables and other submenus. Triggers and overrides have no button, so they stay in their own groups at the end of the tree.
VRChat shows eight controls on one page. When a submenu holds more, AvatarDoc moves the extra controls to a More page, and the tree shows that page as More (page 2). The tree also shows a count, such as 7 of 8, on a submenu's row once it is nearly full.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”The settings in the order the panel shows them.
Shown in: Simple and Advanced · Default: New Submenu · Choices: any text
The text the menu shows on the submenu's button. It has the same style row as a toggle's name: see Style.
Renaming a submenu also changes the Install into of every other AvatarDoc component that installs into it, so they stay inside it. When the avatar's own menu already has a submenu of the same name in the same place, the entry joins that submenu instead of making a second one.
Shown in: Simple and Advanced · Default: none · Choices: any texture
The picture VRChat shows on the submenu's button. It works as a toggle's icon does.

What AvatarDoc builds
Section titled “What AvatarDoc builds”At upload, a submenu adds one button to the menu it sits in, and a new menu page behind it. It adds no parameter, costs no synced bits and adds no layer. The Builds line says 1 menu control.
Messages
Section titled “Messages”- The submenu has more controls than one page holds: the extra controls moved to a More page.
- The submenu joins one of the same name.
- The icon fails VRChat's upload check.
